The Evacuation
In December 2024, 8 Gazan children and their families were evacuated from Egypt to Ireland to receive further medical care. Relief Across Borders provided essential support ahead of their travel, ensuring that families had the basic supplies they needed to begin their new journey.
We understood that emotional support was essential for these children. Since October 2023, they had faced unimaginable hardship, and the trauma they had experienced was compounded by their displacement. To help ease their anxiety and provide a sense of comfort, Relief Across Borders provided play therapy sessions and toys, items that these children had not had access to since leaving Gaza.
While their journey is far from over, our team continues to monitor their progress, providing ongoing assistance to ensure they have the tools to build a stable future.
Relief Across Borders remains committed to supporting these families and all others who are seeking refuge, ensuring that their needs—both physical and emotional—are met.
Relief Across Borders worked closely with partners such as the HSE, Irish Government, and the Irish Red Cross throughout this project.
