Our Referral Process and Criteria

Who is eligible for support from Relief Across Borders?

Each case must involve children aged 0-18 years who are either internally or externally displaced. Cases involving injuries from conflict or unsafe living conditions are expedited.

Where do the referrals come from?

Relief Across Borders receives referrals from NGOs, medical organisations, and individuals. We also have cases where the parents learn about our services and reach out to our team directly.

What happens once a referral is received?

Once a case is referred to us, the Relief Across Borders team conducts a rapid assessment to determine the urgency, severity of need, and whether the case meets our registration criteria. After this assessment, a Patient Data Sheet (PDS) is completed for the child and securely stored, and our team begins to action support.

What happens if a case if referred and they are not eligible?

If a child falls outside of our criteria, we make every effort to refer them to another organisation that can provide the necessary support.
