Our Referral Process and Criteria

Who is eligible for support from Relief Across Borders?

Each case must be 0-18 years of age and internally or externally displaced. Those injured from conflict or unsafe living conditions are expedited.

Where do the referrals come from?

Relief Across Borders receives referrals from NGOs, medical organisations, and individuals. We have also had cases where the parents learn about our services and reach out to our team directly.

What happens once a referral is received?

Once a case is referred us, Relief Across Borders team performs a rapid assessment to determine the urgency, the severity of need, and whether they meet our registration criteria. Once this has been determined, a Patient Data Sheet (PDS) is completed for the child and securely stored, and our team then begin to action support.

What happens if a case if referred and they are not eligible?

If a child falls outside of our criteria, we endeavour to refer them to another organisation that provide the type of treatment the child needs. What does the process look like after the PDS is completed?
