Our Story

During the height of the Gaza crisis, our Founder, Rifqah, worked tirelessly to evacuate children from the Gaza Strip for urgent medical treatment while living in the northern West Bank.

Through this work, Rifqah came to a heart-breaking realisation. Far too many children who had fled the conflict were slipping through the gaps of the humanitarian aid system.

Once the media spotlight faded, many were forgotten, while others found themselves ineligible for crucial support simply because they were no longer in an active war zone. Determined to bridge this gap, Relief Across Borders was founded to ensure these children and their families receive the assistance they need, no matter where they are.

Living in refugee camps across the northern West Bank, Rifqah witnessed first-hand the daily struggles of displaced families, children who had lost everything, parents desperately trying to rebuild their lives, and communities left to navigate the long-term consequences of war and displacement with little support. This experience reinforced the urgent need for sustainable aid that extends beyond immediate crisis response.

Beyond her humanitarian work, Rifqah is also pursuing a PhD focused on the impact of occupation policies on young children in Palestine and remains committed to advocacy and long-term change on the political level.
