Egypt Assistance Programme

Egypt has become a place of refuge for thousands of displaced individuals and families fleeing conflict, persecution, and instability from across the region. Many arrive with limited belongings, uncertain legal status, and no access to the essential support they need to survive, let alone rebuild their lives. With overstretched local systems and growing demand, the challenges facing refugee communities in Egypt are urgent and complex.

At Relief Across Borders, we are committed to responding with compassion and action. Our Egypt Refugee Assistance Programme provides life-saving medical treatment, emergency food and clothing supplies, rent support, and access to educational and psychological services. By working directly with trusted local partners, we ensure that aid is delivered swiftly, responsibly, and with dignity — reaching the most vulnerable, when they need it most.

Ahmed, a 10-year-old boy from Gaza, lives with severe haemophilia and Factor X (10) deficiency—one of the rarest clotting disorders in the world, affecting approximately 1 in a million people. This life-threatening condition prevents his blood from clotting properly, putting him at constant risk of spontaneous and trauma-induced bleeding.

In Gaza, where medical infrastructure has been decimated and specialised treatments are unavailable, Ahmed was unable to access the care he urgently needed, meaning evacuation to Egypt was the only hope for survival.

Once in Egypt, Relief Across Borders was informed of Ahmed’s case. Our team immediately registered him and his family. Through our Egypt Assistance Programme, we are working to ensure that Ahmed receives:

  • Ongoing access to life-saving clotting factor treatments

  • Specialist medical supervision to prevent and manage bleeding episodes

  • Holistic health and social support to help his family regain some stability

Case Study: Ahmed’s Medical Treatment in Egypt

“Across Egypt, refugee families are facing profound hardship — far from home, cut off from essential services, and often forgotten by the world. Children are going without education, parents are struggling to afford rent or basic supplies, and access to healthcare remains out of reach for many.

At Relief Across Borders, we are determined to change that. Our Egypt Refugee Assistance Programme is a vital support system, offering life-saving treatment, shelter, and stability to those who need it most. In the face of displacement and uncertainty, we stand with every refugee seeking safety in Egypt.”
